Lorraine Blower
LVL 1 DAATA Groomer
UK
I'm Lorraine and I have over 30 years experience in dog grooming. My grooming career started when I was only 14 years old when I completed a two week, school work experience at a nearby grooming establishment called Sandy's Poodle Parlour.
Shortly after, Sandy offered me a Saturday job which then progressed into a YTS once I had left school in September 1989.
From a very young age, my love for animals, especially dogs, was apparent and has never changed. As a family, we always had dogs. Wherever I went, you could guarantee that my four legged family members would be by my side.
In 2002, due to ill health, Sandy decided to give up her grooming business and gave it to me in good will.
Sandy's loyal customers then became my customers in my converted garage at home.
In 2014, for my own personal achievement, I decided to enrol on a City and Guilds Level 3 Introductory Dog Grooming course for Professional Dog Stylists at East Durham College. This was a big eye opener for me as I was still stuck in my late 80's early 90's grooming bubble!
I completed the course and then went on to complete the level 3 Diploma, achieving the full qualification in November 2017.
Here at Aldiazik (AL-DIE-ZIK) Happy Hounds, I do not just see dogs that need bathing and trimming. I believe in taking more of a holistic approach to each and every individual in order to enhance their well-being and give them the best future care possible.
When dogs arrive to the salon, I observe and take into account their health, diet, exercise, environment and lifestyle as well as the most suitable products and methods to use for their own individual needs.
Every dog is treated and cared for to a very high standard on a one to one basis, in a stress free, calm environment.
I am passionate about my job and enjoy attending grooming seminars, exhibitions and other canine health and well-being courses to keep updated with the grooming/canine industry. I am a strong believer in humanity before vanity and totally pro-education.
