Groomer Health Study: Only Until December 31 to Take Part

The major international study by the International Grooming Society (IGS) on groomers’ health is nearing its closing date: you have until December 31 to participate. Many of you have already responded — thank you!

But to obtain solid, representative, and useful results for the entire profession, we need as many responses as possible.

A Passionate Career… but Physically and Mentally Demanding

Behind the daily work of groomers lie risks that are often underestimated:

  • muscular and joint pain,

  • respiratory or skin issues,

  • stress and sensory overload,

  • injuries and chronic fatigue…

These issues are real, yet they have never been studied on a global scale — this is what the IGS aims to change.

Why This Study Truly Matters

The IGS study makes it possible, for the first time, to:

✔ Provide official data

To present the real conditions of the profession to brands, professional organisations, distributors, and schools.

✔ Encourage concrete improvements

With the results, we will be able to:

  • push manufacturers toward more ergonomic equipment,

  • raise brands’ awareness of dermatological and respiratory risks,

  • build prevention tools,

  • improve professional training,

  • support stronger recognition of the profession.

✔ Understand the diversity of grooming practices

Each answer adds an essential nuance: country, work environment, animal types, techniques, daily constraints…

The more participants, the more reliable the results.

Your Participation Truly Makes a Difference

Even if you think “my answer won’t change anything,” it actually will: every single response strengthens the credibility of the data. A major study only has impact if many groomers take part — and we truly need you.

Deadline December 31: Take Part Now

The questionnaire is:

  • anonymous,

  • quick (less than 10 minutes),

  • open to all groomers,

  • simple and accessible internationally.

On December 31 at midnight, the questionnaire will close permanently for analysis, and the results will be published in Groomer Connexion and by the IGS.

Together, Let’s Move the Profession Forward

Participating means defending your health, your colleagues’ well-being, and the future of the profession we all care about.

Thank you to everyone who has already responded and to those who will take a few minutes to do so now.
