Grooming is a demanding and passionate profession, but one that puts both body and mind to the test.
Chronic pain, allergies, respiratory problems, hearing disorders, stress, and isolation are among the realities often left unspoken.
The International Grooming Society (IGS), founded by Nathalie Doaré-Ariey-Jouglard – creator of the DAATA-ICDG method – is dedicated to the protection and recognition of groomers. Its mission: to defend the health of practitioners, improve their working conditions, and promote high professional standards.
In 2026, the IGS is launching a major global survey on the health of groomers. This anonymous questionnaire (10–15 minutes) collects testimonies from professionals in order to draw up a global overview. The initiative follows a first French study, the results of which have already led to a legislative proposal on product regulation and the protection of groomers.
The objectives of this major study are simple:
Assess the extent of health problems related to the profession,
Identify risk factors,
Raise awareness among institutions and manufacturers,
Provide concrete recommendations for prevention and training,
Obtain official recognition of grooming as a profession exposed to specific risks.
Brands and suppliers as the first key actors
Manufacturers and distributors play a decisive role. The results of the survey will feed into an international white paper intended to encourage:
Ingredient transparency,
Innovation in formulas and equipment,
Responsible marketing that integrates the health dimension of groomers.
Confidentiality and participation
The survey is completely anonymous and open to all groomers, whatever their status and country. Each testimony will strengthen the impact of this international campaign.
