IGS Groomers’ Health 2026 – A Global Survey to Improve Groomer Health

ree

Caring for animals also means caring for the people who groom them.

Grooming is a passion, but it is also a demanding profession that can take a toll on both body and mind. Yet, groomer health remains a subject that is little studied and rarely considered in industry decision-making.

That’s why the International Grooming Society (IGS) is launching the IGS Groomers’ Health Survey 2026, a worldwide initiative open to all grooming professionals.

One Survey, One Goal: Driving Change

The survey, which takes about 10 minutes to complete, aims to collect valuable information on:

  • Work-related pain and injuries

  • Mental health challenges

  • Workplace safety and ergonomics

  • Allergies and reactions to products or animals

  • Overall working conditions (pace, breaks, environment…)

All this data will be analysed and compiled into an official report that will be presented to key industry stakeholders: manufacturers, suppliers, schools, associations, event organisers…

Why This Survey Matters

Today, there is little reliable data on groomers’ health. Without accurate statistics, it’s difficult to demand real change in:

  • Designing more ergonomic tools and equipment

  • Integrating health prevention into training programmes

  • Improving workplace environments

  • Implementing measures to reduce stress and prevent burnout

The more participants we have, the stronger our voice will be.

Guaranteed Anonymity and Optional Follow-up

The survey is 100% anonymous.

At the end, you can choose to provide your email address to receive the final report and IGS updates — but this email is never linked to your responses.

Global Impact

The IGS Groomers’ Health Survey 2026 is not limited to one country. It is a global project, already gathering responses from groomers across several continents. The final report, to be published after the survey closes on 31 December 2025, will be used to advocate for groomers’ needs to the industry worldwide.
